Ravi who has done roles of a kempt-loverboy for most of his career spanning of 24 films has decided to shift gears for his 25th, Bhoomi.

Taking a stand to turn into a farmer leaving behind the career of an astronaut, Ravi's character Bhoominathan AKA Bhoomi faces off with corporates. From the trailer, it looks like the corporates are either trying to destroy farming or facilitate farming on their terms.

The trademark plough-wielding shot, Ravi spearheading 'farmers protests' and passion towards Tamil in Bhoomi trailer points at a being people-oriented film.

Whether Jayam Ravi succeeds in donning the 'mass hero' hat or he ends up in an overwrought film that just uses agriculture as a prop should be seen on January 14. The trailer however has signs of a promising film.

Bhoomi is a home-production of Jayam Ravi, directed by Lakshman who he joins hands for the third time after tasting success previously in Romeo Juliet and Bogan. Hitmaker D Imman is the film's music composer.

The film will stream on Disney+Hotstar from January 14.
