“India is not ready to tolerate cross-border terrorism. The ball is in Pakistan’s court to take forward the talks process,” external affairs ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup told a news briefing. As just eight days remain for the foreign secretary-level talks between the countries, January 15 will be an important day for both countries.
This is the first time India has officially linked the crucial talks in Islamabad on January 15 to its demand for action on the leads provided by it regarding the brazen attack on the Pathankot airbase, which authorities have blamed on the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). In Pakistan, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met with top officials today including his Foreign Affairs Adviser Sartaj Aziz, in a meeting that was believed to be a review of evidence furnished by India.
