A senior PDP leader said on Monday, “The party president has not made any moves yet. As and when any development takes place, we will let you know.”
Although BJP, the coalition partner of PDP in the government headed by Sayeed, has not given in writing its support to Mehbooba as the next chief minister yet, several party leaders including former deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh have expressed hope that the alliance with the regional party will continue for the rest of the term of the current assembly.
Mehbooba Mufti on Monday showered praise on Jammu and Kashmir’s bureaucracy, saying it had worked with “singleminded dedication” and “outof-box thinking” to ensure good governance under the Chief Ministership of her father late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
In a statement issued here, she expressed gratitude to the administration for “tireless” efforts in following through Sayeed’s vision and commitment to address the demanding challenges confronting the state.
