Siddique was accompanied by a lawyer, his wife and family friend to the police station.
His wife also lodged a complaint against the woman. The fracas took place yesterday, when the woman who is the daughter of the society's chairman went to Nawazuddin's flat to ask him to park his car at another spot. But when she rang his door bell, Nawazuddin came out of the room and allegedly pushed her.
According to Versova Police sources, members of the society have objected to renovation which the actor has done in his flat. He was told several times to stop the construction work because he had not taken prior permission from the society.
The Zohra Aghadi Nagar Co-operative Housing Society, in which Nawazuddin resides, had written about the parking space, too, on Saturday asking him to vacate the society compound which he has occupied for his personal use. That place is reserved for parking of bikes and scooters, police added.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Arun Chavan, said the actor had allegedly assaulted the woman. ''On the basis of her complaint we have registered an FIR against Nawazuddin Siddique under Section 354. He has not been arrested yet.
''Investigation is on.''
