In his letter to the stars, Mr Kejriwal also urged them to join the 'Anti Tobacco Campaign', aimed at helping people to quit smoking and consumption of  tobacco.

In the letter, the Delhi CM said Bollywood celebrities are seen endorsing 'pan masala' and related products many times on television and other media.

"Even if these products are nicotine free, it still contains betel nut and there is no scientific research which has proved that betel nut doesn't cause cancer," Mr Kejriwal said.

Sources in the film trade said that responding to the plea by the Chief Minister, Bollywood actor Sunny Leone said that she would henceforth not endorse any tobacco products like 'pan masala'.
