Undertrial prisoner seeks euthanasia

The prisoner, Asgar Ali who is not keeping good health, in his petition to the President said since he was not being provided proper health care by jail authorities, he should be granted legal permission to end his life.Official sources said here today the prisoner was put behind bars at Madhepura Sub Divisional Jail nearly four months ago for beating some people in the district but he fell sick during his incarceration. Jail authorities who got him admitted to Madhepura Sadar Jail two days ago denied the prisoner`s allegation, claiming that the prisoner was being provided adequate health facility during judicial custody.
