Amit Shah re-elected as BJP chief unopposed for three years

Amit Shah was today re-elected as BJP President unopposed for the second time for a full term of three years.

Soon after the formal announcement, BJP workers gathered outside the party Headquarters here in large numbers and shouted slogans hailing Shah and distributed sweets.  
Mr Shah's election was a certainty as no other candidate had filed for the post.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Ministers--JP Nadda, MA Naqvi, Venkaiah Naidu and Chief Ministers of all BJP- ruled states had proposed Mr Shah's name for the party's top post.
