Form panel to study nurses’ grievances: SC
The Supreme Court on Friday asked the Centre to set up an expert committee within four weeks to look into the grievances pertaining to service conditions of nurses employed with private hospitals and private nursing homes across the country

A three-judge bench, headed by Justice A R Dave, also asked the Centre to consider making a law based on the recommendations which would be given to it by the expert committee on the issue. The bench, also comprising Justices Shiva Kirti Singh and Adarsh Kumar Goel, then disposed of the petition filed by a body working for welfare of the nurses seeking various reliefs to ensure better condition for nurses working with private medical care institutions and other healthcare facilities across the country.
The organisation had sought the intervention of the Apex Court to obtain various reliefs and financial help or assistance. It had told the SC that the financial and working conditions of nurses working various in several healthcare institutions across the country was deplorable.
The bench after hearing the petition of the organisation directed the union government to set up a panel to look into the grievances of the nurses.
