The Jet Airways flight to Chennai from Delhi was grounded for 20 minutes before take-off, the other four Dehradun to Delhi, Chennai to Delhi, Chandigarh to Delhi and Gorakhpur to Delhi flights were already in the air, when the call came.

A few hours after the terror attacks at Brussels airport and metro stations, a call was made to the front desk of Jet Airways in Chandigarh at 3.30 pm.

After the four planes landed in the respective destinations, the crew members and passengers on board were deplaned and security agencies started a thorough search. Three of them landed at Delhi while the fourth was diverted to Nagpur.

The fifth, Delhi to Chennai flight, which was scheduled to take off at 4.05 pm has been stopped for security reasons.
