Kher said he wanted to visit the campus to offer moral support to students in the wake of clashes after a few locals allegedly celebrated India's defeat in the WT20. "Landed in Srinagar.'HOME' away from home. Will go to #NITSrinagar & meet the students & give them a warm hug & a special gift. :) (sic)" Kher tweeted upon his arrival on Sunday morning.
"I have been told by J&K Police that I cannot enter Srinagar city at all. I have asked them to show me the orders. Still at the airport," he added in another tweet.
"Kher also alleged that police did not even allow him to visit either his ancestral house or the Kheer Bhawani temple in Ganderbal district. "Basically it is #AirportArrest (sic)," Kher said in another tweet.
