Going Viral: Sona packs a punch in Murugadoss’s Akira

In Akira, Sonakshi is shown as a misfit of sorts, a rebel. She moves from her hometown of Jodhpur to Mumbai for her education. Unbeknownst to others in her new city, she is also trying to escape the scars of a disturbing childhood. However, even while she’s battling society’s attempts to pigeonhole her, Sonakshi’s character finds herself in the midst of a more dangerous, and immediate, threat when she is embroiled in a crime. Both as a truculent new student in a Mumbai college and as a worthy adversary to the bad guys Sonakshi manages to impress. A word for Anurag Kashyap; his die-hard fans will not be disappointed to see him playing the villain. Akira is scheduled to release this September and it is a remake of the 2011 Tamil film Mouna Guru.
