Electric buses soon in Tirumala
In an effort to make Tirumala a “zero carbon emission zone”, the temple management of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is mulling to operate electric buses soon, its Executive officer Dr D Sambasiva Rao said.

Dr Rao, who participated in the Ayudha Puja held at Transport wing here on Thursday, complimented all the drivers of TTD for their zero accident record on the ghat roads driving with their experience and expertise. He also told them to sustain the same record in future too.
The EO also complimented the transport wing for operating dharma prachara rathams in a successful manner taking up the publicity of TTD’s dharmic activities in nook and corner of the country in a wide spread manner.
“The services by the free buses during the recently held Srivari Brahmotsavams is commendable”, the EO added. Joint executive officer P Bhaskar said, the battery cars were of great use to transport the aged and differently-abled pilgrims in Tirumala. “Even the free buses are also offering wonderful services to pilgrims both at Tirumala as well as in Tirupati,” he maintained.
Earlier, a special puja was held in the transport wing. All the vehicles were specially decorated with garlands and pandals for the occasion and puja was performed.
