Bodies of two Kannada actors not traced from lake so far
A day long search for tracing bodies of two Kannada actor drowned in Tippegondanahalli lake during climax shoot of Kannada ‘Mastigudi’ on Monday, went in vain, even after a team of NDRF was pressed into service.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed disappointment and blamed negligence on the part of Film makers responsible for the tragedy. They will be brought to book. Experts from National Disaster Rescue Force (NDRF) and State Forces launched search operation to fish out the bodies of Raghav Uday and Anil Kumar who had drowned after jumping from a Helicopter along with film hero Duniya Vijay.
However, the latter was rescued to safety by fishermen in a country boat. But till late on Tuesday evening the bodies could not be fished out. The families of the two actors accused the cinema producers, director and the action director for their irresponsible behaviour and will file criminal complaints against them, they said.
Four units were pressed into service and expert divers continued venturing to find out the bodies in the backwaters of Thippagondanahalli lake. Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwar directed expert divers from Naval Base ‘Sea Bird’ in Karwar to be part of operation.
Speaking to newsmen, Siddaramaiah said that it was shocking though the victims expressed they didn’t know how to swim were asked to do the action without taking any safety measures. Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce President S R Goovindu met Chief Minister and appealed for compensation to the family members of the victims. Film Actor MH Ambereesh gave his statement saying that it was an unfortunate incident and such a tragedy should be avoided. He said technology should be used to minimise such tragedies.
Officials of BWSSB which had given permission for the shooting for a day, alleged that the film makers had violated many conditions stipulated by the board.
