Telangana CM to offer jewels worth Rs 5 crore to Lord Venkateswara today

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will offer gold jewellery worth Rs 5 crore to Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala on Wednesday as a thanksgiving offertory for the fulfilling Telangana’s statehood dream.

Rao and his wife Shobha accompanied by some of his Cabinet Ministers, left for Tirupati from Begumpet airport by a special flight here on Tuesday. 

After staying the night at Tirumala hills, the Chief Minister will worship the Lord on Wednesday morning during the VIP break and later will present 14.20 kg Saligram Haram golden necklace costing about Rs 3.70 crore and 4.65 kg Kanta Abharanam costing Rs 1.20 crore to Lord Venkateswara. 

Before leaving for Hyderabad on Wednesday, the CM will also offer gold ornaments to Goddess Padmavathi temple in Tiruchanur near Tirupati. 

This is the maiden visit to Tirumala temple by Rao after assuming charge as Chief Minister. Comprehensive security arrangements have been made for Rao’s visit to Tirupati and Tirumala.
