President Pranab Mukherjee honours Dipa Karmakar, Sakshi Malik with Padma Shri
Rio Olympic bronze medallist Sakshi Malik and gymnast Dipa Karmakar were presented Padma Shri awards by President Pranab Mukherjee at a Civil Investiture Ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan today.

In a grand ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the personalities of various fields were honoured with Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padmashri awards for their contributions.
Among them in the sports, Mr Mukherjee awarded the Padma Shri, to women wrestler Sakshi Malik, Gymnast Deepa, discus thrower Vikas Gowda and Paralympian Mariyappan Thangavelu.
