NDA government completes three years, PM Modi to visit Assam today

It was on May 26, 2014 that the Modi government was sworn in after BJP recorded a landslide victory winning as many as 282 seats in the general elections.

Prime Minister Mr Modi will visit Assam later today to kickoff the countrywide MODIFEST (Making of Developed India Festival) from Guwahati.

"I will be in Assam tomorrow to take part in various programmes. I am eagerly awaiting this opportunity to interact with people of Assam.

I shall lay the foundation stone for two key projects- AIIMS and IARI. Both projects will quicken the development of Assam and the Northeast," Prime Minister wrote in a series of tweets last night.

"In the evening, I will address a public meeting at Khanapara," he wrote.

The Dhola-Sadiya Bridge across River Brahmaputra in Tinsukia District will be inaugurated today. 

"This is one of the most important infrastructure projects in our nation," Mr Modi said in the micro blogging site.

"I am also happy on the support towards BJP across the Northeast. We are committed to serving the region & enhancing its progress," he wrote in another tweet.

As part of its grand programmes to celebrate three years in office, the BJP has planned a grand 'Modifest' in 900 cities across the country between May 26 to June 15 to highlight the central government's achievements in last three years.

During his stay in Assam, Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for two key development projects: AIIMS at Guwahati and Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) at Gogamukh.  

In connection with completion of three years of the Narendra Modi government, events across the country would also be addressed by Union Ministers, parliamentarians, BJP chief ministers, state ministers and several senior party leaders. 

A 'Jan Ki Baat' programme has also been arranged so that the people can share their messages with the Prime Minister directly.
