Accusing the BJP of pulling the strings in the AIADMK from New Delhi and the two AIADMK factions of coming together to advance their personal interests, DMK working president M K Stalin said that the Chief Minister and his predecessor have covered up the late J Jayalalithaa’s death mystery, while the BJP has exploited the situation (in AIADMK) to gain a backdoor entry into the state.

Accusing Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam of sidestepping the issue of ordering a CBI probe into Jayalalithaa’s death to secure ministerial berth and power, Stalin said that EPS, who lost the support of ruling party MLAs after attempting to sideline Sasikala’s family, had approached OPS to save his government.

Stalin did not spare even Governor Vidyasagar Rao in his all-out assault on the AIADMK and the BJP. Referring to the haste with which the Governor returned to the city from Mumbai (to administer the oath of office to OPS), he said the Governor had ordered the swearing in ceremony and appointment of ministers even without checking if the government has a majority, more so after reports emerged about MLAs, who had supported the government thus far, holding separate meetings.

Drawing a parallel between the haste shown by the Governor and his counterpart in Bihar recently, Stalin said that state chief secretary Girija Vaidyanathan had rushed to Raj Bhavan at the same time EPS and OPS had started to the party office. It is amply clear that everything was scripted by the BJP in New Delhi and rehearsed thoroughly before execution.
