Top hospitals, universities to come up in Amaravathi: Naidu
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that several renowned medical colleges, hospitals and universities are coming up in the new capital city of Amaravathi which would be a greenfield and knowledge city of the country in future.

Laying the foundation stone for the Amaravati American Institute of Medical Sciences (AAIMS) through video linkage from A1 convention centre here on Thursday, he said the NRI doctors, who migrated to US were returning to India to establish best hospitals and medical colleges here and AAIMS is one of such institution, being established by Telugu NRIs.
The government is ready to provide them the required infrastructure, he added. Naidu predicted that in future even Americans would come to Amaravathi for medical treatment as the treatment will be available at an affordable price. He said that the budget for medical and health was enhanced to provide best medical treatment to the people of the state.
The Chief Minister listed out various free medical schemes, being implemented by the government. Naidu said Amaravathi is going to be medical education hub as 13 renowned medical colleges and institutions were being established. He said that renowned private universities like VIT and SMR have already established their campuses while Amrita University is coming up soon in Amaravathi, he said.
The Chief Minister informed that world-renowned hospitals like Indo-UK hospitals and All-India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) was coming up in Amaravathi. The AAIMS is being established in three phases at a cost of Rs 600 crore by NRIs and the 700-bed hospital is coming up in a 20 acres land at Ibrahimpatnam, on the outskirts of the city.
