The meeting which took place at Kashmir House on Prithviraj Road here comes two days after the Centre announced appointment of Sharma as its special representative to initiate dialogue, in a fresh move aimed at bringing peace to the troubled state.
State officials dubbed the 30-minute long meeting as a courtesy call by Sharma, who is likely to embark on his maiden visit to the Valley next week in his new role.
After the meeting, Sharma said that the main focus of his visit will be engaging with the youth and providing them with a platform to air their views.
Sharma, an old Kashmir hand in the country's internal intelligence agency, said that he will talk to all stakeholders in a bid to resolve the Kashmir imbroglio.
The Centre's special representative, who will enjoy the rank and status of a Cabinet Secretary, said the modalities about his new role were in the process of being finalised.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh has already made it clear that Sharma would decide whom to engage with for a resolution of the Kashmir issue.
