BSF seizes 22 kg contraband in Punjab
The Border Security Force on Saturday recovered 22 kg contraband, suspected to be heroine, from the Border Out Post Satpal of Firozpur sector in Punjab in early Saturday morning.

Acting on a specific tip-off of joint intelligence teams of BSF and Punjab police, a special ambush by BSF troopers was laid on Friday night in the said area.
On Saturday, at 0410 hrs a movement was noticed ahead of fence. When challenged, miscreants open fire on the ambush team. It was retaliated adequately.
The area was cordoned off and a search operation started. At least 22 packets of contraband contain 1 kg in each packet suspected to be heroine, a 9 mm pistol (made in Turkey inscribed), pistol magazine with 11 live rounds were recovered from the spot. A 12-foot-long plastic pipe, probably to be used as conduit to pass on packets across the border fence, is also recovered there.
Further, some blood stains were also noticed with the trail of moving back towards the International Border.
A search operation is still on in the locality by the BSF.
