Shops and business establishments were closed and traffic was off the roads in Tral and adjoining areas in Pulwama against the killing of the militant though there was no strike call given by any organisation. Work in government offices, banks and educational institutions was also affected.
However, the situation elsewhere in Pulwama was normal with shops and business establishments functioning and traffic plying normally. Reports of normalcy were coming from other parts of south Kashmir.
On Monday, Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant Adil Ahmad Chopan, a resident of Lurao in Tral, was killed in an encounter with security forces in the forest area at Tral.
