Jilted student commits suicide in Nadia, West Bengal

The student, Ujwal Ray was a resident of Barbaria colony located in the Nadia district.

According to his family members, Ujwal was in a relationship with a girl living in the North 24 paraganas. Recently, her marriage was fixed elsewhere, and she began to distance herself from Ujwal. Yesterday, the two met at the girl's sister's house, which also happens to be in the Barbaria colony, where they got into a heated argument. 

Ujwal's body was recovered today morning from his maternal uncle's house.

Police said the reason behind Ujwal's suicide was setback in love. Several photographs of the boy and the girl were recovered by police from the deceased's house. No arrests have been made in this connection as yet, police informed.
