Shops and business establishments reopened and traffic was plying normally on all routes in Bijbehara, a major town on Srinagar-Jammu national highway, and over half a dozen other villages in this district. Traffic was also plying normally on Bijbehara-Pahalgam route who wore a deserted look yesterday due to shut down. However, strike had no impact on traffic movement on national highway, passing through Bijbehara.

Students were also seen attending their classes in tuition and coaching centres normally.

Three local militants Aadil Ahmad Reshi, Abid Ahmad Sheikh and Masood Ahmad Shah of HM were killed in an encounter with security forces at Awoora village of Pahalgam here last year.
