Life remains crippled in Shopian for 8th day
Life remained crippled for the eighth successive day on Thursday in south Kashmir district of Shopian, where a boy, who was injured when an unexploded shell, went off on January 24, succumbed in the hospital this morning.

Meanwhile, mobile internet remained suspended for the ninth successive day in the twin districts of Pulwama and Shopian.
In Shopian, business and other activities remained paralysed with all shops and business establishments remaining closed. Traffic was off the road in Shopian against the death of four civilians in security force firing in two separate incidents in Shopian since January 24.
A youth, Rayees Ahmad Ganie, who was injured in Army firing during demonstrations on January 27 in Shopian, died at SK Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) here on Wednesday. Two other youth died and nine others, including Rayees, were injured, in the firing incident. A ten-year-old boy succumbed today in SKIMS.
Meanwhile, a civilian died in security force firing near an encounter site on January 24 in Shopian, where two militants were gunned down by security forces.
