BEML unveils bullet-proof vehicle for Army

BEML on Thursday unveiled a 4x4 medium bulletproof vehicle for use in counter insurgency operations carried out by the armed forces.

The MBPV 4x4 wheel RH Drive is a heavy duty all weather off-road mobility vehicle, which can be manoeuvred and maintained easily. The advanced blast-protected and bullet-proof vehicle can shield the security personnel from small arms fire, hand grenades and fragment simulated projectiles, among other threats. The vehicle can carry 10+2 people and will be used by the security forces for its counter insurgency operations in a hostile environment. 

Emphasising on the ‘Make in India’ goals of the expo, DK Hota, chairman and managing director BEML said that the newly launched vehicle is built on an indigenously developed 4x4 chassis. This, he said, showcased their “commitment for realising the mission of realising the mission of ‘Make in India’ through our own R&D and delivering world class products for the defence sector”. 

BEML is a major participant at the expo is showcasing defence equipment such as Armoured Recovery and Repair Vehicle (ARRV), BEML Tatra VP13S vehicle platform with super structure, Trawl equipment for T-72 Tank, Aircraft Towing Tractor (ATT B10), Command Post Vehicle and live demonstration of Bulldozer and Motor Grader and other Defence Aggregates.
