West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Tuesday that people have the right to know the truth on what happened to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose after the Taihoku air crash in 1945.
She said that the common people deserve to know what happened to their beloved leader, after the crash.
"On this day in 2015 our government declassified the NetajiFiles. What happened to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose after the air crash at Taihoku? People deserve to know the truth," Banerjee said in a tweet.
On September 18, 2015, the West Bengal government had declassified 64 files related to Netaji.
The Modi government had also declassified several files pertaining to Netaji in January 2015.
The files, however, did not have any information or new evidence on what happened to him after the plane crash in Taihoku (now in Taiwan) on August 18, 1945.
