Sabarimala row: Kerala Police file cases against 67,094 people

From October 17, 2018 to January four, 2019, the police registered 2012 cases and filed cases against 67,094 people from various political outfits in connection with Sabarimala agitation called by various pro-Hindu organisations including Sabarimala Karma Samiti.

Kerala Police filed cases against 67,094 people in connection with the protest against the entry of women  of menstruating age into world famous Lord Ayyappa temple in Sabarimala.

According to a report to be submitted in the Supreme Court, the police also  prepared a list of arrested people and exact number of hartals observed in the State following the Apex Court September 28 verdict allowing the entry of women of all ages into the temple.

From October 17, 2018 to January four, 2019, the police registered 2012 cases and filed cases against 67,094 people from various political outfits in connection with Sabarimala agitation called by various pro-Hindu organisations including Sabarimala Karma Samiti, police sources said.

Out of 67,094 accused in several cases, the police could identify only 10,561 people from various political parties including, CPI(M), Congress, BJP, RSS, Muslim outfits Popular Front of India and SDPI, Shiva Sena, Bajrang Dal, Anthrashtreeya Hindu Parishad.
