After a sweeping victory at the parliamentary elections, Narendra Modi has once again been elected the Prime Minister of India.
The BJP formed an alliance with the AIADMK in Tamil Nadu this year. It allocated contestants in various places in Tamil Nadu including Kanyakumari. The BJP candidate for Kanyakumari, Pon Radhakrishnan lost his shot at victory this time around.
All candidates contesting on behalf of the BJP faced a similar fate except for AIADMK candidate, Ravindranath in Theni.
Since BJP does not posses a candidate to represent the centre in Tamil Nadu, it is expected that Pon Radhakrishnan will be appointed a minister at the centre yet again.
Following this, the BJP had invited Pon Radhakrishnan to visit the headquarters at Delhi. He had left for Delhi earlier today, in response to the invitation. He is set to take part in a meeting conducted for the leaders of the coalition parties.
Pon Radhakrishnan had already been a minister during the 1999 rule of the BJP under Vajpayee. It is to be noted that he once again became a minister at the centre with BJP’s victory in 2014.
