Trust vote expected to reach its finality today

The Confidence vote, which was tabled by the Chief minister H D Kumaraswamy is expected to reach to its finality, as Speaker Ramesh Kumar informed that he would give focus on completing the agenda of the day.

Speaking to newsmen here, he said that the Business of the House is likely to complete today.

Replying to questions, on a petition submitted by the Congress before the Supreme Court seeking some clarifications, on its interim verdict issued on Thursday last, he said that "I am not aware of it".

It may be recalled that the confidence motion which was moved by H D Kumaraswamy, is yet to conclude, as the coalition Congress and the JD(S) members resorted to time-buying tactics with a hope that the rebel MLAs, may change their mind and come back to the party fold.

However, the coalition partners were frustrated as till this morning, no headway was achieved as for as pursuing of the rebel legislators.

While the Coalition Congress and the JD(S) leaders, welcomed the decision of the BSP supremo, Mayawati for extending its support during trust vote, they are also worried as one of their MLA B Nagendra, who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bengaluru, may not attend the session.

Another Congress MLA had slipped out of their hand, as Srimanth Patil, was admitted into a hospital in Mumbai and ostensibly on cardiac related problem.

The Opposition BJP members, with a strength of 105 in the Karnataka Assembly, is expected to press for floor test to be taken today itself, as promised by the Speaker Ramesh Kumar.

Both the Congress and the JD(S) leaders including Siddaramaiah, Dinesu Gundu Rao, D K Shivakumar,  held a series of parleys with the JD(S) leaders including H D Kumaraswamy and H D Deve Gowda to work out strategies to thwart the attempt of the Opposition BJP to come back to power.

In the meantime, two independent MLAs, who are also ministers had extended their support to the Opposition BJP, and had also moved to the Supreme Court seeking directions to the Karnataka Speaker to complete the process of Confidence motion, on Monday itself.
