Keval Bagde, the businessman from Pune, was admitted to Vellore CMC, two months ago, for renal treatment. Sources said following the treatment, Bagde was recovering and he needed lots of rest.

His family, meanwhile, wanted him to be under their care in Pune and since the flights were all cancelled, his kin urged the Central government and the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in Delhi for arranging a special flight to bring the businessman back to Pune.

Following the green signal offered by the government, Bagde, along with his wife and daughter, reached the sixth gate of Chennai airport in an ambulance. From there they boarded a special flight to Pune which departed at 3.30 pm.

Highly places sources, however, said this incident was nothing short of a lockdown breach.
