COVID-19: 8th death reported in Rajasthan, total cases 489
A 65-year-old female from Ramganj in Jaipur, who was admitted in SMS Hospital on Wednesday with complaint of respiratory distress pneumonia with comorbidity hypertension, died on Thursday evening, said Rohit Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary.

Death of an eighth patient due to coronavirus was reported in Rajasthan, even as 26 new corona positive cases in the state on Friday took the total cases to 489, health officials said.
A 65-year-old female from Ramganj in Jaipur, who was admitted in SMS Hospital on Wednesday with complaint of respiratory distress pneumonia with comorbidity hypertension, died on Thursday evening, said Rohit Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary.
Meanwhile, 12 new cases reported in Banswara are contacts of previously reported positive case. Jaisalmer (Pokhran) too reported eight new cases who are all contacts of a positive case; and Jhalawar with three new cases, also contacts of a corona postive patient, he added.
One new patient found in Alwar had travelled from Delhi but had not given any contact history. Another case in Bharatpur is a contact of a corona positive Tablighi Jamaat follower. One case reported from Kota is also a contact of corona patient.
Jaipur district has the highest 168 corona patients, Jodhpur 34 and Jhunujhu 31.
Bhilwara has 27 corona patients, Jaisalmer 28, Tonk 27, Banswara, 24, Ajmer 5, Alwar 6, Bharatpur 9, Bikaner 20, Churu 11, Dausa 6, Dholpur 1, Dungarpur 5, and Karauli and Pali two each, Sikar one, Udaipur four, Pratapgarh two, Nagaur one, Kota 18, Jhalawar 12 and Barmer one.
Overall, 19,107 samples were tested, of which 17,851 are negative. Reports of 767 samples are awaited.
