Speaking to IANS, the worker, dealing with sewer lines, said he went for the testing on his own as he had a fever for the past few days.

"I was having a fever and so my children pushed me for a test after the regular medicine I was taking did not lead to any improvement in my health. I am in my house currently," the worker told IANS.

Saying that he paid Rs 4,500 for the test, he demanded that the testing of his family should be done too.

"So far, no one has come for testing in our house. I am staying in my home only, although separately. I want my wife, our son and his wife should be tested too as I cannot afford private testing for all," he said.

He said he has no idea how he got the infection.

Meanwhile, on Monday, the DJB issued an order asking 10 people working in the office to go for quarantine.

The Tagore Garden office has been shut for 14 days, while the other staff members have been asked to report to another office.

The order also said that the office should be sanitised for two days.
