Abu Salem sentenced to 3-year imprisonment in fake passport case
While pronouncing the quantum of sentence, the court said that the time already spent by them in jail in this case shall be adjusted in their three-year jail term.
LUCKNOW: Jailed gangster Abu Salem was on Tuesday sentenced to three years imprisonment in a 25-year-old fake passport case by an Uttar Pradesh court.
Special Judicial Magistrate Samriddhi Mishra convicted Salem, who appeared through video conferencing from Taloja jail, New Mumbai where he has been serving life imprisonment for his role in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, and his associate Mohammad Parvez Alam in the passport case.
While pronouncing the quantum of sentence, the court said that the time already spent by them in jail in this case shall be adjusted in their three-year jail term.
