Due to the torrential rainfall, the Madras High Court has declared holiday on October 16, for the district courts of Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Chennai and the principal seat of the High Court.

Meanwhile, the AIADMK has postponed its 53rd foundation day celebration which was to be held on Thursday at the party headquarters in Chennai. The party has also postponed the public meeting in Kancheepuram, according to an official statement.
