RMC predicts heavy rainfall over 13 districts till 7 pm

Switch off power supply only during heavy winds

Electricity Minister V Senthilbalaji instructed the Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation officials to switch off power supply only during strong winds if there is risk to the safety of the public.

500 medical camps to be held on Sunday

The state health department will conduct 500 medical camps on Sunday in seven districts, namely Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, and Cuddalore, which are under red alert due to Cyclone Fengal.

Changes in EMU Service pattern on Chennai Beach - Chengalpattu Section

Due to heavy rains and waterlogging , the EMU service pattern on the Chennai Beach - Chengalpattu section has been revised as follows:

Chennai Beach - Tambaram EMU services will now operate only between Chennai Beach and Pallavaram.

Chengalpattu - Chennai Beach EMU services will run between Chengalpattu and Vandalur.

Short termination of trains in Chennai

Several express trains will be short terminated and diverted due to the suspension of Bridge No14, following heavy rains caused by Cyclone Fengal.

EMU service disrupted between Tambaram and Chennai Beach station

EMU train services between Tambaram and Chennai Beach station were suddenly halted from Saturday afternoon due to the ongoing heavy rain and storm caused by Cyclone Fengal.

Several electric trains, including those stranded at stations like Chennai Chromepet, St Thomas Mount and Guindy, have left passengers with no option but to disembark and walk to their destinations.

Guest worker electrocuted after contacting live cable

A guest worker was electrocuted in Muthialpet on Saturday after coming into contact with a snapped live cable while attempting to withdraw cash from an ATM.
