Special trains to clear extra rush for Makaravilaku, Pongal announced; check details

CHENNAI: The Southern Railway has announced a few special trains to clear extra rush of passengers during Sabarimala Makaravilakku and Pongal festival.

Train 06058 Thiruvananthapuram Central-Dr MGR Chennai Central festival special will leave Thiruvananthapuram Central at 4.25 am on January 15 (Wednesday) and reach Chennai Central at 11 pm on the same day (1 service). In the return direction, Train 06059 Dr MGR Chennai Central-Thiruvananthapuram Central festival special will leave Chennai Central at 1 am on January 16 (Thursday) and reach Thiruvananthapuram Central at 8 pm on the same day (1 service).

Train 06046 Ernakulam Jn-Dr MGR Chennai Central festival special will leave Ernakulam at 6.15 pm on January 16 (Thursday) and reach Chennai Central at 8.30 am the next day (1 service). In the return direction, Train 06047 Dr MGR Chennai Central-Ernakulam Jn festival special will leave Chennai Central at 10.30 am on January 17 (Friday) and reach Ernakulam Jn at 11 pm on the same day (1 Service).

The South Western Railway has notified more special trains during the Pongal festival. Train 06569 SMVT Bengaluru-Tuticorin Express will leave SMVT Bengaluru at 10 pm on January 10 (Friday) and reach Tuticorin at 11 am the next day (1 service). Train 06570 Tuticorin-Mysuru Express will leave Tuticorin at 1 pm on January 11 (Saturday) and reach Mysuru at 6.30 am the next day.

Train 07319 KSR Bengaluru-Dr MGR Chennai Central special will leave KSR Benglauru at 8.05 am on January 10 (Friday) and reach Chennai Central at 2.40 pm on the same day (1 Service). In the return direction, Train 07320 Dr MGR Chennai Central-KSR Bengaluru special will leave Chennai Central at 3.40 pm on January 10 (Friday) and reach KSR Bengaluru at 10.50 pm on the same day (1 service).
