Youth falls from train footboard at Saidapet station, gets dragged along platform, dies
According to a Maalai Malar report, the victim, identified as Balamurugan (24) from Cuddalore, was seated on the footboard of the train.

CHENNAI:A young man lost his life on Thursday after falling from the Vaigai Express train at the Saidapet railway station here.
According to a Daily Thanthi report, the victim, identified as Balamurugan (24) from Kattumanar temple area in Cuddalore, was travelling on the footboard of the train from Egmore railway station. He was reportedly sitting with his legs outstretched.
The mishap occurred when the train was moving at high speed past the Saidapet railway station. Balamurugan's legs brushed against the platform and went under the train, causing him to fall, the report added.
Eyewitnesses stated that he was dragged by the train for approximately 150 metres along the platform before getting crushed to death.
