AP fisherman beaten to death, body thrown in sea

On Tuesday morning, his body washed ashore after which police recovered and sent it for postmortem, which revealed that the victim was beaten to death.

CHENNAI: A 46-year-old man from Andhra Pradesh, who was working as a fisherman in Kasimedu, was murdered after a drunken brawl on Monday night and his body was dumped into the sea. Lokeshwaran (46) from Srikakulam used to stayed on the boat on most nights.

On Monday night, when he was drinking alone, two men came there and asked him to share the liquor. When he refused, they attacked Lokeshwaran with wooden logs and pushed him into the sea.

On Tuesday morning, his body washed ashore after which police recovered and sent it for postmortem, which revealed that the victim was beaten to death.

Kasimedu Fishing Harbour police registered a case and found that two youngsters had an altercation with the deceased. On interrogation, they confessed to the murder after which the accused – Samuel (21) and Sanjay (21) – were arrested and remanded in judicial custody.
