Tamil Nadu BJP functionary Alexis Sudhakar booked under Goondas Act

According to Maalaimalar reports, Chengalpattu District Collector Arunraj ordered the arrest under the Goondas Act based on the recommendation of Chengalpattu SP.

CHENNAI: TN BJP functionary and advocate Alexis Sudhakar was detained under the Goondas act on Friday. He was arrested on charges of providing an unlicensed pistol to rowdy and history sheeter, Sirkazhi Sathya, who was shot and caught by the police near Mamallapuram last week.

The detention order was passed by Chengalpattu district collector S Arunraj based on the the recommendation of Superintendent of Police V V Sai Praneeth, after it was proved that Sudhakar had supplied the unlicensed pistol to Sathya.

Sudhakar has filed a bail petition in the case, which has been posted for hearing on July 8. Alexis Sudhakar already has three criminal cases pending against him, police said.

Sathya had come to Mamallapuram to attend the birthday party of Sudhakar when he was arrested on June 28. Sathya too joined the BJP in 2021.
