CHENNAI: In the first marquee set of Day 1 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) Mega Auction 2025 on Sunday, Rishabh Pant became the costliest player in the league's history selling for a record price of Rs 27 crore for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
Coming second is Shreyas Iyer who was bought by Punjab Kings (PBKS) for Rs 26.75 crore.
Yuzvendra Chahal sold to Punjab Kings for Rs 18 crore and KL Rahul sold to Delhi Capitals for Rs 14 crore
There are a total of 577 players up for grabs with Punjab Kings having the biggest purse (Rs 110.50 cr) whereas inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals (RR) have the least budget (41 cr).
The two-day mega IPL auction is under way at Abady Al Johar Arena in the Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah.
