AIADMK needs unity for victory, says O Panneerselvam
Taking a veiled attack at AIADMK chief Edappadi K Palaniswami, Panneerselvam said, "You (journalists) should tell what is happening in the AIADMK in the last three years?"
CHENNAI: Expelled AIADMK leader and former Chief Minister O Panneerselvam reiterated that the party would taste victory only if it comes together as a single force.
"The situation has arisen that the AIADMK can win (elections), only if the party reunites. I have been insisting on this for a long time and the cadre have also understood this. But some are yet to realise it and the cadre will soon make them understand it," O Panneerselvam told media after returning from his trip to Delhi during the late hours of Tuesday.
He skirted away from the question regarding his visit to Delhi by stating that it was a political visit.
On action taken against AIADMK organising and former minister Thalavai Sundaram, who has been temporarily relieved from his party postings for flagging off the RSS route march, Panneerselvam said that it was a wrong move.
"The party by-law never restricts a functionary from participating in a political event. Removing from the party post for attending such a programme is unacceptable," he said.
