CHENNAI: The leader of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) Thol Thirumavalavan on Sunday said Lotus wouldn’t bloom in the Dravidian land, referring to the BJP party’s symbol, rebutting exit-poll predictions of the saffron party’s wins across the country, including Tamil Nadu.

The DMK-led Indian National Democratic Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc would win all the 40 seats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, he added.

“The BJP cannot win in Tamil Nadu,” said Thirumavalavan while responding to a question on the exit polls which predicted the BJP would win two to three seats in Tamil Nadu along with a manifold rise in voting percentage.Shrugging off the exit polls, the VCK leader said he never considers them worthwhile.

“It is the outcome of the biased media. Psephology has turned out into a ‘puppet’ in the hands of the BJP that took the country to darkness in its last 10 years of regime, he said.

INDIA bloc’s PM nominee will be democratically elected, said Thirumalavan. “28 political parties have come together for the common good. It faced the election without announcing the PM candidate. After the election victory, a common minimum programme would be framed by a joint committee of the alliance members. A call on the PM nominee will also be decided in a democratic way. That’s a salient feature of the INDIA bloc,” he said.

PM Modi’s remarks that the INDIA bloc will have five PMs for five years is a welcome idea, the VCK leader said.
