Palaniswami pays respects to MGR on his 37th death anniversary, vows to unseat DMK

CHENNAI: Former Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, along with AIADMK functionaries, paid rich tributes to the party founder MG Ramachandran on his 37th death anniversary at his memorial on Tuesday.
Palaniswami, accompanied by senior AIADMK leaders, MLAs, former ministers, and party members, all of them clad in black shirts, offered floral tributes at the MGR memorial on Marina Beach. Many AIADMK cadre also organised a silent procession to pay tributes to their party founder.
Palaniswami also administered a pledge that DMK would be defeated in the 2026 assembly polls and the AIADMK would come to power. Palaniswami also paid floral tributes to the portrait of MGR at his residence. Similarly, AIADMK cadre across all the districts have also paid respects to MGR in their respective region by garlanding his statues installed in various areas.
Expelled AIADMK leader O Panneerselvam also paid floral tributes to MGR with his supporters on Marina. Similarly, AMMK founder TTV Dhinakaran and Jayalalithaa's former aide VK Sasikala also visited the MGR memorial to pay their respects.
