Palladam police issues guidelines ahead of Vinayagar Chathurthi; check details
Palladam police have appealed to the people to follow the rules and cooperate with the police during the festival.
CHENNAI: With just a couple of days left for Vinayagar Chaturthi festive, Palladam police issues guidelines on Wednesday.
The Vinayagar Chaturthi festival is being celebrated on September 7, this year.
On the occasion of Vinayagar Chaturthi, about 2 lakh idols of Ganesha will be placed in Tamil Nadu on behalf of the Hindu outfit, reports stated.
Meanwhile, the Palladam police have appealed to the people to follow the rules and cooperate with the police during the festival.
Here are the guidelines:
* Ganesha idols should not exceed 9 feet as allowed by the government in the Vinayagar Chaturthi festival.
* Idols should not be consecrated in new places other than the places consecrated last year.
* Banners and loudspeakers should be placed after obtaining permission.
* A loudspeaker should be used with permissible volume for 2 hours in the morning and evening.
* Fireworks and crackers should not be used during the consecration of the idols and during the procession.
* Idols made of clay and paper pulp only should be placed.
* Vinayagar idol should be accompanied by a team of 5 people for 24 hours of security and should have a clearance certificate from the owner of the place where the idol will be placed, police department, fire department, electricity board.
