CHENNAI: Sharpening his attack against the BJP-led union government on the language policy and delimitation issues, Chief Minister MK Stalin launched a fierce rebuttal to the saffron party’s controversial Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday, saying that the party was rattled by Tamil Nadu’s firm voice on two-language policy and demand for a fair delimitation.
Reacting strongly to his Uttar Pradesh counterpart Yogi Adityanath’s remarks against his government’s stand on the issues, Chief Minister MK Stalin said, “Tamil Nadu’s fair and firm voice on#TwoLanguagePolicy and#FairDelimitation is echoing nationwide–and the BJP is clearly rattled.”
Tamil Nadu was not opposing a language, but its “imposition and chauvinism,” asserted Stalin in his social media message.
Not a riot-for-votes, it’s a battle of dignity: Stalin
Responding to Yogi’s jibe that they–DMK among the opposition– create division when their vote bank feels threatened, said, “Just watch their leaders’ interviews. And now Hon’ble Yogi Adityanath wants to lecture us on hate? Spare us.
This isn’t irony—it’s political black comedy at its darkest,” Stalin posted on his ‘X’ page. “We don’t oppose any language; we oppose imposition and chauvinism. This isn’t riot-for-votes politics. This is a battle for dignity and justice,” a witty Stalin remarked, taunting Yogi, who has been facing criticism for his bulldozer justice and the frequency of communal clashes in the northern state.
Annamalai slams Stalin over rebuttal to Yogi
State BJP chief K Annamalai joined the issue and slammed CM Stalin for his rebuttal to Yogi Adityanath. He accused Stalin of deception, branding him a “con artist” who falsely claims to uphold Constitutional values and federalism.
“While con artists typically swindle the wealthy, the DMK shows no such distinction—they deceive both the rich and the poor,” Annamalai said in a social media post, quoting CM Stalin’s post.
Lambasting the DMK’s alleged duplicity on the trilingual policy, Annamalai pointed out that while Stalin’s family-run private schools offer multiple languages, his government staunchly opposes the same opportunity for students in government schools.
“The entire nation now knows that the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s family owns private institutions where students learn three or more languages. Yet, the same Stalin vehemently resists this policy for government school students. The people are calling you a hypocrite, Mr Stalin,” Annamalai charged.
