Going by latest figures, the Dravidian party headed by Chief Minister MK Stalin is all set to make a near-clean sweep, reminiscent of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

CHENNAI: Chief Minister MK Stalin addressed the press on Tuesday at 7 pm, expressing his gratitude to the voters, He stated, "I extend my heartfelt thanks to all the voters who voted in the election. I thank the leaders and volunteers of India Alliance who worked to defeat the fascism and save India."
"Last time we won in 39 constituencies, this time we have won in 40 constituencies. The DMK coalition has achieved a historic victory by winning 40 out of 40 seats," he added.
The DMK-led INDIA bloc seems all set to make a near-clean sweep in the Lok Sabha elections with trends showing the Dravidian party wresting all 39 seats in the state and the sole seat in the union territory of Puducherry. In 2019, too, the DMK had won from 38 of the 39 states in the state.
DMK's Kanimozhi (Thoothukudi), A Raja (Nilgiris), and Robert Bruce (Tirunelveli) have won from their respective seats, among other candidates.
INC's Tharahai Cuthbert won the Vilavancode assemby bypoll.
The BJP and AIADMK failed to open an account in the state.

PMK President S Ramadoss issued a statement on Tuesday, ahead of the Lok Sabha polls results being declared, saying that it was sad that the Patali Makkal Katchi did not win the Lok Sabha elections despite presenting plans and promises for the welfare of the people.
The mood of the people against the ruling DMK in the Lok Sabha election field in Tamil Nadu was well seen, the veteran leader said, adding that the ruling coalition has won everywhere and there are many reasons behind this.
