Tiruvarur district declares April 7 as holiday for Aazhi Therottam festival

CHENNAI: In view of Aazhi Ther festival, the major event at Sri Thyagaraja Swamy temple, Tiruvarur district administration declared a local holiday on April 7 (Monday).
Aazhi ther, the prominent car festival of Tamil Nadu attracts devotees across the State. Tiruvarur district collector V Mohana Chandran, on Monday, declared a local holiday on April 7.
As the local holiday falls on Monday, the regular public grievances redressal meet has been postponed to the next day on April 8 (Tuesday).
Similarly, the birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar falls on Monday (April 14). Thus, the weekly grievances redressal meet would be held on the next day (April 15), added the collector.
