CHENNAI: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) founder Vijay unveiled and garlanded statues of various leaders at the party’s headquarters in Panaiyur here to commemorate anniversary celebrations on Sunday.

Actor-politician’s address at the celebration, which touched upon the party’s core ideology of secular social justice, state autonomy, inclusiveness, and anti-corruption, got reflected in the busts unveiled and garlanded.

Vijay did honours to the busts of Dr Babasaheb BR Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, Periyar EV Ramasamy, a champion of social reforms and women's empowerment, K Kamaraj, a stalwart of the Indian National Congress and a former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Velu Nachiyar, a pioneering queen who fought against British colonial rule, and Anjalai Ammal, a trailblazing social reformer and women's rights activist, installed at the party headquarters, showcasing TVK’s political view.

Party general secretary N Anand, along with other senior functionaries and cadre, took part in the celebrations. However, the newly-appointed general secretary (election campaign management), Aadhav Arjuna, was absent due to his participation in the National Games 2025, currently underway in Uttarakhand.

TVK president Vijay also underscored the party's resolve to empower women and marginalised communities while promoting social justice and equality.
