Vijay’s TVK joins DMK-led INDIA bloc in boycotting Guv Ravi's Republic Day reception
TVK joined the host of INDIA bloc parties DMK, Congress and VCK in boycotting the function organised by Raj Bhavan.
CHENNAI: The fledgling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has decided to boycott the At Home reception hosted by Governor RN Ravi at Raj Bhavan on Sunday evening as part of Republic Day celebrations, joining the DMK-led INDIA bloc parties in saying no to the gubernatorial head’s invite.
The boycott is against Governor Ravi’s functioning style, which the people of the State widely criticise, party sources said. Even though Vijay preferred to meet the Governor in person sometime back to raise concerns over the Anna University sexual assault case, he chose a different path on R-Day.
TVK joined the host of INDIA bloc parties DMK, Congress and VCK in boycotting the function organised by Raj Bhavan. Even though skipping the Governor’s At Home reception, TVK president Vijay extended warm Republic Day wishes soaked in patriotic fervour.
