CHENNAI: India’s campaign at the Paris Olympics 2024 is drawing to a close and it was a great end on day 14 as Wrestler Aman Sehrawat defeated Puerto Rico's Darian Cruz 13-5 to win bronze medal in the men's 57kg freestyle event. This is India's sixth medal in the ongoing Games. The 21-year-old wrestler from Haryana won bronze medal in his first outing in Olympics. And after many battles Indian wrestlers faced in the event, Aman gave a great finish to the Paris Campaign for the Indian contingents. With his win, the tradition of Indian wrestlers bringing home medal from Olympics since 2008 continues. On the other hand, India’s men’s and women’s 4x400m athletes did not qualify for the finals. The women's team finished at eighth place whereas the men's team finished in the top five (fifth place) but did not manage to qualify.
